Bartels
Bartels www.bartelswhisky.com are an Independent family bottler of whisky with an enviable range of casks to draw on for bottlings and blends. They have a fascinating range of old and very old whiskies from diverse distilleries, making them a very interesting part of the Harrow Whisky Festival.
The family have been associated with the Highland Laird label for over 50 years and are also the UK distributor for the German owned ‘Malts of Scotland’. They bottle ‘His Excellency’ a premium blended Scotch Whisky.
We will watch with interest what Bartels bring to the festivals since they have product from more than 20 distilleries including some very old expressions. Port Ellen, which has now ceased to distill whisky, is now the maltings for several Islay distilleries. Bartels still have Port Ellen whisky so it will be one to look out if they choose to bring it to the festival. Another one to look out for will be John Doe Irish Single Malt to see if that features in the product they bring.
