Angus Dundee

Glencadam and Tomintoul

Angus Dundee join us for the first time in January 2018 with product from its two delightful distilleries. The Tomintoul distillery is located near to the village of that name, the highest village in the Highlands of Scotland. The distillery is at the heart of Speyside in the Glenlivet estate area. The distillery was built close to the Ballantruan Spring, a source of particularly pure water from the Cromdale Hills.

The Glencadam distillery was opened in 1825 in the Highland Whisky region and is less than a mile from the ancient City of Brechin (Eastern Highlands). Glencadam has an unusual ‘lye pipe’ arrangement running upwards at a 15 degree angle. The unusual ‘lye pipe’ arrangement is thought to help create a particularly mellow character that, after maturation, gives rise to sweet and fruity notes.

Angus Dundee are known as major exporters of whisky to some 70 countries and with some brands that are especially well known overseas.
